Miklós Németh is an important representative of post-Informel trans-avantgarde expressionism in Hungarian painting. Int he mid-1960, he was forerunner of the universal trends of expressionism, some twenty years before its heyday int he 1980s (Heftige Malerei or Neue Wilde). His painting is also rooted int he multifarious pop art, e.g. graffiti and comics. By blending these, Németh has created his own individual style, which gives an insight into the traditions and successive trends of modern painting in Europe. From an urban perspectiva and with a pantheistic concept of life, he depicts the universe, especially the feelings, ordeals and creative endeavours of man as the main repository of Creation.

Expresszív, szürreális jegyekkel készített táblaképeinek témái aktok, életképek, csendéletek. Festői látásmódját legjobban a színek tobzódó használata jellemzi.

Opinions on Miklós Németh's paintings:
"The spontaneity with which the artist reduces his motifs to the essentials speaks to the beholder through their strikingly strong colours, thus making access to
his art, not just for art connoisseurs, simple, as well exciting."
/Nikolaus Peter Lengersdorff/
„Miklos Nemeth is a principally colorist, painter of lively colors, red, blue and green: his graphical rough-and readiness gains its reason in the celebration of colors. Forms of trees, people and buildings alloy into union in the harmony of his tones.”
/Dr. Miklós Losonci- Art historian/
„He was always interested in the whole surface of the paper. The magic of composition, the rythym and the colors tied down his attention. So were born the significant works of Miklos Nemeth with strength of visions, which - and it's not exaggregation - belong to the front line of Hungarian art.”
/Pál Deim - Kossuth and Munkácsi prize painter artist/
„Inspired by expressionismand surrealism, Nemeth's panels (…) area riot of colour. His pictures reflect the stylistic marks of new sensibility as well as the visual wffects of the now classic trend of synthetism. His themes have taken on an icreasingly sybolic character. His style of painting seems to fall within the scope of Art Brud, but we could rightfully call him a new espressivist.”
/Gábor Ö. Pogány, PhD in Art History, retired Director General of the Hungarian National Gallery/
„(...) Colours constitute the core of Miklos Nemeth's artistry. His paintings do reflect construction, the composition system, and even the contour lin as an organising element of the image, but what really accounts for their uniqueness is Nemeth's colouring techniwue. Bold, loud and poweful even in their occasionaly pale shades, these colours always play a key role in image creation. Nemeth harnesses a wide range of a pinter's skills to create the most vigorous colour efect possible. This is where his strenght resides.”
/Prof. Dr. Lajos Németh, Art Historian, Head of Department, Eötwös Lóránd University of Budapest/
„Miklos Nemeth.(1934 ) works, with their richness in colour, are sweeping away the present Eastern opinion of Europe states a Tokyo newspaper about the 1991 Tokyo-exhibition. Heated with unique colourism, his images of colours would attach him to Matisse, if this volcanic power, fall would not be emerging from inside. Nemeths’ painter’s soul draws the attention on himself with not only his rich colour-experience but also with his style free of boundaries. One looking at Nemeth’s paintings can hardly escape from the view’s suggestiveness. Nemeth’s painting cannot be and it is not even worth comparing to anybodys as what he is representing is Mikos Nemeth’s style itself."/ http://artpainting1.infoandstuff.com/?p=3508
